Hello friends!
Is this not the cutest Mason Jar craft you have seen? Ok, I made this and so I’m biased and just a bit excited but not only is this craft super cute, the Christmas sugar scrub I made to go into it is so, so delicious smelling you will wan to eat it!
I recently participated in a Handmade Gift blog hop where a big group of fabulous bloggers got together to showcase ideas for handmade gifts. I made this DIY SPA Gift Basket that was a total hit! As part of that gift basket idea I made this simple Christmas sugar scrub craft. I think it’s too cute not to be shared on its own!
I love little bottle brush trees, so when I was thinking how to present the Christmas sugar scrub for the gift basket I thought it would be so cute to use some tiny bottle brush tress on the lid of the mason jar. I think I was right!
This craft is so straight forward and you can use Mason Jars in so many ways for all season and occasions. I love how this Mason Jar craft turned out I will actually be making another one and putting small LED lights into it as part of my Christmas decor.
Ok, let’s get started on this easy craft!
Christmas Sugar Scrub in a Mason Jar Craft
Materials
3 different jars/bottles. I used a Mason Jars, a basic little jar and a glass bottle with a cork lid.
4-5 x Mini Bottle Brush Trees (assorted sizes)
Red Chalk Paint- I used DecoArt America Decor Chalky Finish in Rouge
Wooden Spoon
1 1/2 cups Raw Sugar
3 TBSP Coconut Oil
2 x drops Cinnamon Essential Oil
1 – 2 x drops Vanilla Essential oil
How To Make The Christmas Mason Jar Craft
It’s really very simple! To start place the mason jar lids on top of some newspaper. Use any paint brush you pay have and paint all of the lids (if painting more than one) with the Decor Art Chalky Finish Paint in Rouge. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Allow it to dry in between layers. I did two laters.
The fabulous thing about chalk style paint is that is dries very fast so you can work quickly and not waste time.
Once the paint is dry, place your lids back on the mason jars. Hot glue the Mini Bottle Bush Trees on the top then follow by wrapping the twine on to the rim of the lids.
Voila! Finished!

How to make the Cinnamon and Vanilla Christmas Sugar Scrub
Ok, this is so simple it’s almost hard to believe! Using basic ingredients from your kitchen you can create this awesome Christmas sugar scrub!
Start by pouring the sugar into a large metal or plastic bowl.
Add the coconut oil.
Add the recommended amount of essential oils (see under materials for measurements).
Miss all of the ingredients well.
Spoon the scrub into your Mason Jar/s. Finish by screwing the lids on tight. You can also add some super cute Christmas gift tags to your Mason Jars to give as gifts.
And there you have it! isn’t it simple, yet too cute! Remember you can make big batches of these. The measurements above fill one mason jar. Times it by the amount of mason jars you want to make and go to town!

Thanks Christine 🙂
Adorable I love it! Just a quick question on how many drops of the oil? I notice it says check under material but it doesn’t say how much of the oils.
So sorry for late reply Rachel. I went back and added how many drips. But a couple of each is enough. 🙂
