Homemade Orange Scrub by pastels & Macarons- Indulge your senses in this delicious sweet and warming body scrub. Leaves your skin feeling silky smooth.Hey Guys!!

Today I’m going to show you how to make a really quick and easy Homemade Orange Scrub. You know sometimes you just need something for your body that is clarifying and leaves your skin feeling bright, vibrant and fresh. Well my friend, this is the scrub you need to make. I’m loving this body scrub. It’s sweet, delicious and fully infused with gorgeous citrus aromas. I love it. Citrus fragrances are my favourites alongside woody scents like sandalwood. So as you can imagine this fella is right up my alley. I made this scrub with Autumn as my inspiration. Though orange is citrusy and fresh it’s also a very warming essential oil and perfect for the cooler months. In saying that though you can use this all year around.

Homemade Orange Scrub by pastels & Macarons- Indulge your senses in this delicious sweet and warming body scrub. Leaves your skin feeling silky smooth.

A couple of months back I made this relaxing Lavender Body Scrub. This is pretty much the same recipe but using a different fragrance.

What You Will Need
2 Cup Raw Sugar
10 Drops Orange Essential Oil
4-5 Tbsp Organic Coconut Oil
1 Tbsp Fresh Grated Orange Zest (Optional)
Measuring Cups & Spoons
Mixing Bowl
Airtight Contaner
Wooden Spoon To Mix With

Homemade Orange Scrub by pastels & Macarons- Indulge your senses in this delicious sweet and warming body scrub. Leaves your skin feeling silky smooth.

Instructions
If coconut oil is hard, place in microwave for 15-20 seconds to melt into liquid. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well with a wooden spoon. Spoon contents into an airtight jar or container.

This recipe makes two cups worth of scrub mix which filled the jar I used in the photos. You can halve this mixture if you prefer to make a smaller batch or of course you can double or triple to make a large batch to share with your family and friends.

This scrub is for the body Jelica but you can certainly make a face scrub with a lot less essential oils suitable for your skin. Keep it to refined dark sugar, coconut oil and a drop of oil to start with. I personally wouldn’t recommend using citrus oils as they can be damaging to sensitive facial skin but maybe try a tiny drop of chamomile or rose in jojoba to see how you go. They are more expensive oils but worth investing in for your skin if you have issues with your skin. Goos luck! x

looks fab, will definitely be trying this out!! Quick question though. In an airtight container, how long will this last?! Can it go bad?! Is it one of those use within a week things?!

Hi Shauna, you can leave it a good 6 weeks. The only thing that it may loose a little of it’s fragrance. You are using all products that are long lasting like coconut oil, essential oils and sugar. You may want to either use less zest or non at all incase that goes off. I’ve some of my subs for 3 months + with no problem 🙂 Keep it in a cool place to guarantee longevity. Not the fridge as that may be a little too cold before using in the shower. Hope it turns out nice for you 🙂
